About me

Hello! I'm Megi — a nanny and teacher who helps children grow with respect for their individuality and natural development. I'm trained in Montessori principles and incorporate them into my daily care and activities: I create a prepared environment, observe, and support the child's interest and independence.

I am a reliable partner for the family: I take care of the daily routine, safety, nutrition and walks, and I also integrate developmental activities appropriate to age and sensitive periods.

Core Values

Respect for the child

I see the child as an individual: I offer choices, speak calmly, and avoid unnecessary interventions.

Independence

I help with “do it yourself”: from dressing to setting the table and personal care.

Pace and order

Smooth transitions, predictable mode, minimization of overload and unnecessary stimulation.

Space for the child

A prepared environment is the basis of the Montessori method. Everything in the space is organized so that the child can act independently and feel confident:

  • Low open shelves with materials.
  • Children's furniture that is the right height for them.
  • An area for quiet games and reading.
  • Simplicity, order, and beauty without unnecessary distractions.

This kind of space helps children concentrate, choose activities independently, and develop in harmony with themselves.

The Montessori Method: Simply Put

The Montessori approach is a philosophy and set of practical tools that help children develop naturally through freedom within boundaries, respect, and a prepared environment. Below is a brief but comprehensive explanation for parents.

1) Prepared environment

The home/space is organized so that the child can act without constant adult assistance. Low shelves, safe materials, order, and logical placement of items develop independence and internal order.

2) Freedom of choice within boundaries

Children are offered a conscious choice of age-appropriate activities. The boundaries are clear: respect for oneself, others, and materials. This is how responsibility and willpower are formed.

3) The role of an adult is to observe and assist

Instead of constant instructions — observe..I notice the child's interest and readiness and suggest an appropriate activity, demonstrate it briefly, and then step back to give them space to be independent.

4) Sensitive periods

During certain periods, children are particularly receptive to order, speech, movement, and sensory experiences. I select materials and tasks to support these current “windows of opportunity.”

5) Mistakes as part of learning

Materials often have error control. The child sees the discrepancy and corrects it themselves. This develops attention, perseverance, and confidence without pressure or evaluation.

6) Developing practical life skills

Serving, pouring, fastening, caring for plants—these are not “everyday tasks,” but precise exercises that develop motor skills, concentration, and independence.

What this gives the child

  • Confidence and belief in their own abilities.
  • Concentration and the ability to see things through to the end.
  • Development of speech, logic, and fine motor skills.
  • Respect for themselves and others, cooperation skills.

How I implement the method

  • I organize a mini-environment at home: low shelves, baskets, order by category.
  • I offer 3–5 age-appropriate activities and update them as interest wanes.
  • I involve my child in everyday activities: cooking, taking care of belongings, walks and observations.
  • I use “I-messages,” a calm voice, and respectful language.

Examples of classes by age (approximate)

1–2 years
  • Pouring, transferring (water, beans under supervision).
  • Insert frames, sorters, large laces.
  • First tasks: bring a napkin, water a flower.
2–3 years
  • Frames with fasteners, dressing independently.
  • Sensory bins, sorting by color/size.
  • Simple table setting, wiping the table, helping in the kitchen.
3–6 years
  • More precise practical life exercises.
  • Preparation for reading/counting (letters made of sandpaper, number rods).
  • Nature observations, elementary experiments.

Frequently asked questions

How much screen time is acceptable?

I strive to minimize screen time and offer live classes, sensory activities, and walks. Reasonable limits are agreed upon with the family.

Are “special” toys necessary?

No. The main thing is to have safe, high-quality, and logically organized materials. I will help you set up the environment and a list of basic items.
